Silicon Steel Project: Under LY Steel, there is a project via Hunan Liangang Electromagnetic Materials Co., Ltd. (JV between Valin Lianyuan and Lianyuan Group).

Phase 1 (as of June 2023): 200,000 tonnes per year of non-oriented silicon steel in operation.

Phase 2 expected to add another 200,000 tpy non-oriented + 100,000 tpy oriented silicon steel by 2025.

In 2024, the JV produced ~263,000 tonnes finished silicon steel.

Home Appliance Steel Project: As of March 2025, LY Steel put into operation a cold-rolled, high-end home appliance steel sheet project.

Investment: RMB 890 million.

Annual capacity: about 450,000 metric tons. Includes hot-dip galvanized products, deep-drawing and ultra-deep-drawing steels for appliance panels, as well as high-strength structural steels.

ANDRITZ order: a new cut-to-length line + heavy-duty levelers to handle ultra-high strength steels (3-25 mm thick, width up to ~2,130 mm, strengths up to ~1,900 N/mm²) were ordered with delivery (start-up) planned Q3 2021.
